  1. Family Therapeutic Justice Certification Programme (Jul 2024)

    This 2-day course comprises 3 modules of in-person learning to arm the family lawyer with competencies to support their clients and stakeholders to achieve therapeutic justice. The course is developed by the Singapore Academy of Law in conjunction with the Singapore University of Social Sciences, and is supported by a working group comprising Judicial Officers of the Family Justice Courts and senior family lawyers.

    This 2 day programme will help you to gain insights on the managerial and business aspects of the legal profession. Understand strategy in a law firm and how you can contribute to it. Through interactive and workshop-based sessions, participants will learn to:

     

    • Identify five key behaviours that the participants can deploy to display leadership in their firms.

    • Develop their, individual medium-term aspirations in terms of objectives and key results.

    • Develop self-awareness about their preferred conflict resolution style;

    • Develop awareness of alternative conflict resolution styles and to practice same.

    • Understand the key strategic choices firms make to position themselves in an industry

    • Develop an appreciation of business valuation techniques and approaches in M&A transactions.

    • Develop understanding of how to contribute to firm strategy:

    • Explore their ability to make more substantive contributions to firm strategy.
