About AITP

The Accelerated Industry-Centric Training Pathway (AITP) is a specialised programme designed to fast-track experienced professionals in specific industries into certified adult educators. Managed by the Institute for Adult Learning (IAL), AITP focuses on equipping professionals with the necessary skills and credentials to deliver SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG)-approved training programs within their respective sectors.

AITP for the Legal Sector
In January 2024, the Ministry of Law and Skillsfuture Singapore (SSG) appointed Singapore Academy of Law (SAL) as the Appointed Industry Partner to deliver this unique programme for the Singapore legal sector. The AITP programme deployed by SAL is recognised by SSG to meet Adult Educator (AE) requirements for SSG-funded training courses targeted at legal professionals. It is contextualised by SAL and delivered in collaboration with IAL, ensuring that the training content is aligned with current industry needs and best practices. Upon successful completion, participants are presented a certificate and recognised as certified adult educators in the legal industry.

As of March 2025, 3 runs of the programme for the legal sector have been completed, and 44 individuals have received the AITP certification.

This programme equips professionals who train in the legal sector with deep skills and knowledge in learning pedagogy, allowing them to effectively integrate their technical expertise into learning design and delivery. The 40-hour programme, delivered over 5 days, provides an interactive learning experience that includes practical application of adult learning principles, coaching techniques, and assessment methods.

The curriculum is structured around case-based learning and hands-on activities.

1	Understanding and Managing Learners Analyse learner profiles to identify strengths, weaknesses, and learning needs. Adapt learning delivery based on learner profiles and needs, considering technology-enabled approaches.
2	Facilitating Classroom Learning Craft targeted learning plans aligned with organisational goals. Apply adult learning principles to promote active participation Engage learners through effective facilitation, questioning and communication techniques. Manage group dynamics to ensure a positive and productive learning environment.
3	Tech-Enabled Learning Leverage technology to create engaging learning experiences that promote collaboration among learners. Integrate technology to set, monitor goals, collect feedback, track progress, share resources, and ensure data privacy. Facilitate communication and feedback using online collaboration tools, remote/asynchronous sessions, and technology-based feedback methods.
4	Coaching Craft a workplace coaching plan encompassing goals, activities, learner needs, and organisational alignment. Leverage a coaching plan to deliver impactful coaching sessions through diverse techniques, adaptable strategies, and strong communication skills.
5	Effective Assessment Interpret assessment plans to define requirements, methods, and tools with relevant stakeholders. Deploy appropriate assessment tools and methods. Conduct assessments in accordance with established plans and procedures. Maintain ethical conduct throughout the assessment process Review assessment plans for effectiveness in measuring competencies.
