It was an interesting year for the range of significant decisions in Family Law handed down by the courts. Our speakers will discuss the most notable cases in 2022, including cases on the enforcement of child orders, the characterisation of matrimonial assets and the judge-led approach both substantively and in case management. These cases show how therapeutic justice has taken root in our family justice system, and provide valuable insight on the prevailing trends in family law.

There have been several decisions from the Singapore Courts in 2022. One of which is The Jeil Crystal [2022] SGCA 66 where the Court of Appeal considered whether a warrant of arrest may be upheld based on a cause of action that was not originally pleaded when the warrant of arrest was issued. The Singapore Courts also considered cases dealing with misdelivery claims under bills of lading in the course of 2022.
