Cases in the last decade have shown that psychiatric evidence presented by the Prosecution are often preferred by the Court than that presented by the Defence. This seminar aims to delve into the reasons for so and to identify the issues that may be hindering Defence psychiatrists from being able to present a more cogent assessment. The seminar will also explore possibilities of how psychiatric evidence ought to be heard and ventilated in court in the foreseeable future.
