Date & Time: 12 February 2025 2pm - 6pm
Venue: State Courts, Havelock Hall, Basement 2, 1 Havelock Square, Singapore 059724The pandemic now seems like a distant memory. But in truth, many of us forget that it really only ended in March 2023 with the WHO declaration. More importantly, the effects of the pandemic remain with us in the PIPD world up to today – asynchronous and hybrid work, paperless offices, judicial ADR now taking the form of pure neutral evaluation, less of an opportunity to see one another, more paper advocacy than court craft.
Were these changes an inevitability, even without the pandemic? Likely so, given that “Courts of the Future” was conceived well before the global crisis.
Has the post-pandemic era brought a “new normal” which is only a little different from the time before any of us heard of the word “coronavirus”? Or will the changes from the pandemic bring more changes? Now that the ratchet has turned, it doesn’t seem to want to turn back. And will it turn even further?
Will Artificial Intelligence change the PIPD landscape forever, whether through the work processes we undertake, or the very subject matter of our work?
In this symposium, lawyers from within and without the PIPD profession speak about learning from the pandemic and using these lessons to meet the challenges and shape a positive future for PIPD lawyers and clients.
