Delphine graduated from the University of Cambridge with a B.A. in Law (First Class Honours) in 2001 and the National University of Singapore with a Graduate Diploma in Singapore Law (High Distinction) in 2022. She worked as a Justices’ Law Clerk for former Chief Justice Yong Pung How from 2022 to 2023 before getting called to the Singapore Bar and moving on to serve her scholarship bond with SembCorp Industries. She later worked at various international law firms and in-house legal teams before joining the Law Society of Singapore and was its Chief Executive Officer for nearly 6 years. She joined SAL in 2022. In October 2024, she gained her qualifications in adult education from the Institute of Adult Learning (IAL). |

Ruth Leong Ruth is a legal professional with a distinguished career spanning litigation, corporate law, and legal education. She began her legal journey in commercial and civil litigation, gaining valuable corporate experience at one of Singapore’s Big Four law firms. As a Law Lecturer at Temasek Polytechnic, she played a pivotal role in shaping legal education, lecturing full-time students in the Diploma in Law & Management and adult learners in the part-time diploma programmes. She specialised in subjects such as Contract Law, Company Law, and Banking and Finance, while also designing and delivering customised legal training for corporations. Prior to joining SAL, she established herself as a trusted Asia-Pacific regional legal advisor to multinational corporations, receiving four Excellence Awards for her ability to provide sound legal guidance while driving business growth and managing legal risks. She was also an integral member of the APAC leadership team and contributed to strategic decision-making and organisational success. Her expertise spans corporate work, employment law, and data privacy, complemented by her success in leading cross-functional initiatives, equipping teams with robust data protection strategies, and negotiating complex agreements with key stakeholders, including distributors, suppliers, and government agencies, to achieve strategic business outcomes. Committed to lifelong learning, Ruth has completed prestigious programmes such as the FinTech Course at Harvard University (2024) and the Oxford Executive Leadership Programme at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford (2022). She has also served as an Associate and Research Member of the Singapore Council of Women’s Organisation (SCWO) and a Committee Member of the Women’s Register (2018–2022). With her extensive experience and dedication to professional development, Ruth hopes to equip her participants with practical insights and strategies to address real-world legal and business challenges effectively. |
