Previously, he led a backend engineering team responsible for maintaining performance of the second-highest revenue generating microservice at ShopBack, during business-as-usual as well as supernormal traffic periods during sales season.

In the past, he practised as a litigator working on disputes including a cross-border joint venture litigation that culminated in the first case heard before the Singapore International Commercial Court. He later practised as an intellectual property and technology lawyer, and advised on matters including personal data protection obligations related to streaming video and data centres, computer misuse relating to software updates and employee monitoring, broadcast and telecommunications legislation relating to video content providers, and the first website blocking application related to copyright infringement made against internet service providers in Singapore.

He graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Laws and a Master's in Computer Science. He previously explored quantifying the success rates of Senior Counsel in Singapore based on publicly available appeal decisions, and remains curious about the application of software to solve problems in the legal domain.
