The Global Technology Law Conference 2015, held over two days on 29 and 30 June 2015, is the second in a series of international conferences delving into the issues thrown up by the collision of law and disruptive technologies. The conference grappled with legal and regulatory issues in the wake of financial technologies, or Fintech, and the challenges to data protection and intellectual property law associated with big data. This book collects a series of articles that deal with these topics in much greater depth. The views articulated at the conference form the bedrock of these articles. This book is a compendium of principal papers and commentary papers which were presented at the 15th Biennial Conference of Chief Justices of Asia and the Pacific which was held in Singapore. This book is the result of the Rule of Law Symposium that was convened in Singapore in May 2014 to consider the implications of the rule of law for development both in the South-East Asia region and globally.
