Conversation with Sir Bernard Eder and Minister Edwin Tong SC
Date/ Time: 10 January 2024, 5pm – 7pm
Venue: SAL, Stamford 1 & 2, The Adelphi #08-08, 1 Coleman Street (S179803)
Did you know that Minister Tong was once a mini pupil of legal luminary Sir Bernard, way back in the 1990s?
This master and pupil pair will soon reunite in Singapore after more than a quarter of a century in their respective practices and time on the bench and in Government!
Come and hear from them on how they deal with ethical conundrums, difficult cases, and even more difficult personalities. Do they approach issues in the same way? What would they have done differently in their professional lives with the benefit of hindsight?
Sir Bernard will share from his vast experience as a Queen’s (now King’s) Counsel who practised for over 35 years as Counsel in numerous jurisdictions including Singapore, was formerly a Justice of the High Court of England and Wales, and is now an International Judge of the Singapore International Commercial Court and an international arbitrator.
Minister Tong will share how he has grown as a pupil who knew little to become a Senior Counsel, Head of Restructuring and Corporate Insolvency Department, Co-Head of Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department, and Exco Member at one of the largest law firms in Singapore, as well as his time in Government, overseeing legal policy.
This is a complimentary event.
