In an ever-more complex and competitive economy, it is imperative for legal practitioners to stand out in a crowded marketplace. The Specialist Accreditation Scheme offers a unique opportunity for lawyers and inhouse counsel to achieve an easily identifiable recognition of their expertise, serving as a differentiation for consumers of legal services.
The Scheme, now in its 8th year and with more than 100 Accredited Specialists and Senior Accredited Specialists, welcomes applications to become an Accredited Specialist (minimum 5 years’ PQE) in:
• Maritime and Shipping Law
• Data and Digital Economy Law
Applications open 1 January 2025 and end 31 March 2025.

Interested Accredited Specialist applicants are requested to submit their application, reference statements, supporting documents and the payment confirmation email using the online application form that can be found at https://sal.org.sg/Services/Appointments/Specialist-Accreditation/Information-Guides-Forms.
SAL will send an acknowledgment of receipt of application ONLY if the application form is fully completed and accompanied by all the required documentation, and the application fee paid.

The Singapore Academy of Law’s Specialist Accreditation Scheme confers recognition of a legal practitioner’s expertise and experience in a specialised area of law.
The accreditation as an Accredited Specialist is valid for two years.
Accredited Specialists who were
1. accredited in January 2019, 2021, 2023
2. reaccredited in March 2021, 2023
are invited to apply for reaccreditation.
Applications for reaccreditation opens 1 January 2025 and ends 28 February 2025.
