The third edition of Insurance Law in Singapore provides a much-needed update for practitioners, students and interested stakeholders in the insurance law process. The law of insurance in Singapore is primarily based on English law but there are now major differences between the laws of both jurisdictions in relation to insurance law. Since the publication of the second edition in 1997, the UK has introduced the Insurance Act 2015 (which has been described as the most significant reform to English insurance law since the Marine Insurance Act 1906), the Consumer Insurance (Disclosure and Representations) Act 2012 and the Third Parties (Rights Against Insurers) Act 2010.
