A Treatise on Singapore Constitutional Law explores how constitutional law operates within the context of a non-liberal, secular constitutional democracy, within a religiously and racially diverse social setting. This treatise is concerned with both theory and doctrine, with explaining the black letter rules of constitutional practice and their underlying rationales, as well as critically examining how they work in practice. The second edition provides a comprehensive update on numerous developments that have taken place in Singapore’s sentencing jurisprudence since the publication of the first edition in 2009. Through in-depth commentaries and a new chapter on Community Sentences, the second edition covers developments in Singapore’s sentencing jurisprudence up to January 2019. The law of restitution is a major branch of private law which is not well understood. This is the first book dedicated to the law of restitution in Singapore providing an analysis of the principles of the law of restitution with reference to two distinct parts, namely, unjust enrichment and restitution for wrongs.
