JLP - Fireside Chat: Ethical Best Practices in Dispute Resolution Guide

PFE123T-JLP

Date & Time: 8 January 2026 (5.00pm - 7.00pm)
Venue: SAL, Marina 1,2 & 3, The Adelphi #07-01, 1 Coleman Street (S179803)

The Ethics and Professional Standards Committee’s Report dated 8 January 2025 explained the need for a new Ethical Best Practices in Dispute Resolution Guide (“Guide”). The Report explained that two Guides will be developed in parallel: (a) a local Guide will focus on Singapore practitioners, and (b) an international version, that could set out suggested best practices for foreign practitioners in the international litigation and arbitration space. The local Guide, launched in September 2025, sets out best practices and ideal standards specific to disputes work.

Join us as the authors of the Guide, Mr Ng Jern-Fei KC (Duxton Hill Chambers), Mr Paul Tan (One Essex Court) and Ms Una Khng (Helmsman LLC) explain the guide, with a discussion thereafter moderated by the Honourable Justice Valerie Thean. Learning Objectives Participants will: (a) Understand the contents of the Guide; (b) Examine and query the authors of the Guide; and (c) Utilise and apply the Guide in the course of their work.

This Fireside Chat is complimentary for all JLP Participants and Registrants (ie, lawyers who have signed up for or have attended at least one JLP module / the JLP Opening Conference). Please head over to https://www.linkedin.com/groups/14694098/ to register if you are a JLP Particpant / Registrant.
