From Mareva to Metaverse: Interim Injunctions in Cross-border Commercial Disputes

Date: 13 Jan 2026
Time: 2:00pm to 7.00pm SGT
Venue: Stamford Ballroom, Level 4, Raffles City Convention Centre, 80 Bras Basah Rd, Level 4, Singapore 189560

As global commerce continues to be reshaped by rapid advancements in technology and the forces of geo-economic fragmentation, the ability of courts to grant effective reliefs to preserve rights and property across national borders and over emergent asset classes has never been more critical.

This seminar will examine recent developments in the law of injunctions and the effectiveness of a variety of injunctions to meet the rapidly evolving needs of modern commercial dispute resolution.  Participants will explore recent developments in asset freezing orders, receivership orders, and anti-suit injunctions, with particular focus on cross-jurisdictional challenges and the conceptual frameworks needed for the digital economy. Against the backdrop of increasingly complex international commercial disputes often involving parallel proceedings across multiple jurisdictions, and today's geopolitical flux, the seminar will examine how anti-suit injunctions are being tested, adapted, and are likely to evolve. Participants will gain insights into comparative approaches across major jurisdictions, emerging judicial trends, and strategic considerations for navigating this complex landscape.

The seminar promises to be invaluable to legal and non-legal professionals operating in international trade and investment, offering practical guidance on securing effective interim relief in an ever-more challenging global environment.
